Mary Kneeland Anthony attended the University of the Pacific Conservatory of Music in Stockton California. While at the University her studies focused on Music Therapy and Music Performance. Mary studied violin with both Dr. Horace Brown & Dr. Orly See.

As a member of the Oakland Symphony as well as the Cape Ann Symphony in Massachusetts, Mary participated in and learned orchestral performance. Currently Mary can be seen performing in groups around the Orange County area.

A teacher of traditional methods, Mary has also been to Japan to study, observe and learn the Suziki Method of music instruction from Dr. Suzuki and has taken numerous SAA units over the years to enhance her teaching skills.

Mary is a String Specialist, teaching students from elementary to high school and adults of all ages. While at the Waldorf School of Orange County, she built the orchestra up three fold in one year. She has taught all levels of skills, from beginner to orchestral preparation. Mary also taught Violin, and Viola and other strings at California State University Long Beach.

Naturally caring and nurturing, Mary is dedicated to the training and education of her student musicians as whole person. Her students often play and perform for nursing / retirement homes and other disadvantaged groups, giving a gift of music. Some of her students have played in honor orchestras while others students have won competitions and have played with professional orchestras.
